The City Council meets on the first and third Monday of each month (Tuesday, if a Holiday falls on Monday). The council meetings are open to the public and you have the opportunity to address the City Council during the Citizens Comments portion of the agenda. The first Monday of the month the Council will recess and the EDA will meet. At the conclusion of the EDA the Council will reconvene and complete the Council Meeting

South St. Paul Mayor for the Day Essay Contest
Attention all 4th-8th graders……Are you interested in knowing what it would be like to be Mayor of South St. Paul for a day? If you were Mayor for the Day, what would you do in South St. Paul? Here is your opportunity.
Letters are due back to City Hall by February 26th. Mayor Francis will read all the letters and select one youth to be the 2019 SSP Mayor for the Day. The Mayor for the Day will receive a variety of goodies including dinner with Mayor Francis, along with 4 of your friends, a private tour of City Hall and an opportunity to help facilitate the March 4, 2019 City Council meeting.
New this year, the SSP Mayor for the Day will have the opportunity to lead a South St. Paul Community Service Project with City Staff and volunteers. This could be your project or one of the annual projects within the community

The Planning Commission is a seven-member citizen commission, appointed by the City Council to four-year terms. The Planning Commission advises the City Council on all planning, zoning, and land uses within the community. Duties of the Planning Commission include the review of all development and redevelopment proposals and the enforcement of the Comprehensive Plan.
