Join in the fun during the annual Kaposia Days celebration, June 22-24, 2018. There are many pre-events taking place, such as a Car Wash Fundraiser, Royal Tea, and Medallion Hunt. The official kick-off to the weekend is the Grande Parade on June 22 beginning at 6:30 PM. The parade route begins at 12th Avenue North & 3rd Street, traveling south on 12th to Southview Blvd., east on Southview to 5th Avenue, and then south on 5th to 8th Street. Find a spot on the parade route and enjoy the festivities.
The celebration continues on Saturday, June 23 with fun activities like the softball tournament, craft & flea market, classic car show, royalty coronation, bingo, bean bag tournament, pony rides and the children's parade (the theme this year is Dress as your favorite construction worker).
The celebration winds down on Sunday, June 24 with a pancake breakfast, kite fly, bingo, family games & activities, petting zoo, boat parade, water balloon dodgeball and the City Council Annual Hot Dog Picnic. The City Council Hot Dog picnic takes place on the square in front of the Central Square Community Center (Marie Ave & 7th Ave N). This FREE event begins at approximately 1:30 PM and ends when the hot dogs are gone. Finally, Kaposia Days celebrates the end of another great festival with a fireworks display at 10:00 PM at the high school football field.
