Vandalia Glassworks has begun to renovate the former Hitching Post building at 103 Concord Exchange North in order to relocate their glass art studio and gallery from St. Paul’s Midway area. The business will be making significant cosmetic and functional upgrades to the building’s exterior, including a new storefront, windows and entries, exterior painting and resurfacing, and renewed landscape and site amenities. The move allows the business to expand its services and foster continued growth.
The art gallery will be used by artists to showcase their creations for sale in the renovated retail space on-site. The gallery will include views of the studio space to allow patrons to view the artwork being produced and interact with artists to learn about the techniques used to create the pieces. The glass studio also provides a hands-on learning environment for classes ranging from one-on-one instruction to groups of 10-20 people. In addition to the studio and gallery space, approximately 1,700 square feet within the building will be available for a future retail or office tenant.
South St. Paul welcomes Vandalia Glassworks and thanks them for their energy and commitment to creating a more vibrant Concord Exchange corridor!
