Comprehensive Plan
The City of South St. Paul is launching a process to update its Comprehensive Plan.  The Comprehensive Plan is a planning document that contains information concerning a wide range of topics including goals and policies for land use, housing, parks and open space, economic development and transportation systems that will have an impact on land use within the City.  The City's Comprehensive Plan was last updated in 2008, and contains projections for community growth out to 2030.  The 2018 update will extend the vision that shapes the City through the year 2040.

The update process began with a visioning meeting on Wednesday, June 14th.  The open house gave attendees the opportunity to participate in a variety of interactive exercises designed to gather ideas about the future direction for the City.  Additional events are being planned to gather feedback, including a "business forum" to specifically collect input from South St. Paul-based businesses and their employees.  This open house event will be held between 7:30 - 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18th in the City Hall Council Chambers, 125 Third Avenue North.  Participants will be asked to engage in activities that help to identify their vision for a more prosperous and sustainable economic future for the City.  This feedback is an important and unique perspective that will assure that the comprehensive plan represents as many community voices as possible.

Community engagement takes place through October, 2017.  Please visit the Comprehensive Plan online forum at https://ssp2040.mysidewalk.com for updates and to contribute ideas that will help develop and strengthen the plan.  A quick and easy way to provide input is to take the City's quick community survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SouthStPaul.  Your input and engagement in this process is invaluable.
