The Charter Commission consists of nine members, who may only serve two four-year terms.
Duties
The City Charter enables the City of South St. Paul to be a self-governing city under the municipal home rule provisions and state law. The City Charter Commission is appointed by the district court upon recommendation of the city council.
The City Charter Commission keeps the charter current through procedures authorized by state statutes. The charter details the structure of South St. Paul's city government, as well as, the procedure it follows.
