Great Halloween Get Together Cancelled for 2020

So many great memories from The Great Halloween Get Togethers over the past few years. A favorite of super heroes, princesses, and so many cute costumes, it is a fun community event with music, games and so many families, friends, dogs in costumes, and treats.

Here at the City, we have given it so much thought as to how we could alter it to make it safe event, while still having a fun evening. How can we follow CDC guidelines of social distancing, wearing of masks not only on the little ones, but adults and volunteers. After brain storming our options, it was determined that we are not able to host it this year, which makes us sad.

Safety and social distancing are just 2 factors we took into consideration. Like many of the larger community celebrations, it takes so many local merchants, businesses, organizations, sponsors and volunteers to make The Great Halloween Get Together a success. With the current condition of COVID 19 and the affects that it has on the economy and all involved, it is best to cancel for this year and come back stronger next year.

As like many cancelled events this year, we can do PLAN B. Using the same concept as the Please Come to My Neighborhood Program that we hosted this summer in the neighborhoods, we will be teaming up with Ashes Fire Truck Rental visiting neighborhoods and handing out treats. Watch for more details this week about how your neighborhood can be part of this program on Halloween Day.

We are sad that it will not take place this year because it is a favorite event of ours as well, but we hope to see you in the neighborhoods.
