To all water customers:
Due to severe drought conditions throughout the state, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has determined that the state is now in the drought warning phase. The DNR has asked the City to implement water use reduction actions. At this time, we would like to remind you that sprinkling lawns is not allowed between the hours of 10:00am and 5:00pm. UPDATE 06/22/2021
The full water sprinkling ban by emergency proclamation was lifted by the City Council on June 21, 2021. HOWEVER, City Code Sec. 62-28. - Water sprinkling ban between the hours of 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM is still in effect. Please water your yard in the early morning or late evening hours.

Water Sprinkling Ban by Emergency Proclamation (LIFTED June 21, 2021)
City of South St. Paul, Minnesota
NOW THEREFORE, I, JAMES P. FRANCIS, Mayor of the City of South St. Paul, by the power and authority vested in me by the South St. Paul City Code, Section 62-28. – Water sprinkling ban do hereby proclaim a WATER SPRINKLING BAN and do hereby ORDER and DIRECT the following:
The watering of lawns, both commercial and residential, is banned.
This shall be effective June 16, 2021 until the next regular City Council meeting when the ban shall be extended or rescinded by the City Council.
A person found violating this shall be subject to the issuance of an administrative citation pursuant to chapter 38 of the City Code of South St Paul.
