The Mississippi River at South St. Paul continues to rise about 1 foot per day and is expected to crest on Sunday, April 23rd. Projections put the water elevation of the river at South St. Paul just above 700 feet at the peak. At that elevation only a few low-lying areas directly next to the river and trail access points would experience some minor flooding. The majority of the community is protected from a flood levee which is built to an elevation of 710 feet. The City has been implementing all measures outlined in the flood preparedness plan in anticipation of any flooding and crews will be ready to mobilize flood response efforts if necessary.
